If you are trying to lose weight or achieve a particular fitness goal, then you have to make sure you have the right amount of determination to see that goal come to pass. Some of you may be already saying that, “I already have determination…” Well, according to Webster’s to have determination means you have
“a firm or fixed intention to achieve a desired end.”
Strangely, I’ve come to realize that some individuals confuse this with the “positive thinking” craze that’s been sweeping the entire health & fitness world. I am naturally a pretty optimistic and upbeat person, but I don’t buy into the whole positive thinking phenomenon. In all honesty, I think it is a bunch of bullcrap!
Now, don’t get me wrong! I do think positivity can be a strong motivating force in accomplishing an essential task. However, I believe it’s going to take much more than visualization or positive thinking to lose pounds around your waistline and flatten your abs. Wisdom says that you have to move from the realm of imagination and thoughts to performing the desired action. The way I look at accomplishing goals like getting in great shape or building a successful business is that it is positive actions that are the most important. Simply do the actions required for reaching your objective, and don’t mind how you feel inwardly. What I have come to realize is that doing the correct & necessary actions always leads me to feeling better about my situation. There have been days when I didn’t feel like using my Ab Rocket abdominal trainer, but I knew it would be beneficial for me and I had to find the determination to just do it. My advice about getting in shape is that sometimes you will feel like exercising and sometimes you won’t. But, regardless of how you feel, make sure you exercise either way!
